Peter’s truck with 4 of his restored motors Australia day 2016
This truck was restored by Peter Barr in Esperance in 1990. He had bought it fromGlen Ellix who had retired from farming in Salmon Gums. Peter bought the truck with the intention of restoring it and he asked Glen for some previous history and below is what he wrote
I have recently got the books Classic Truck No. 2&3 wasnt able to (get) No.1 they are extra. I was THRILLED when I read your report about the KS5. I love reading about anything like that brings back many memories. I will just mention one or two things for your own details. I bought the truck in Moonta in 1949 and it was used for carting wood there only 17 miles from where I lived for 47 years. The Hoist & the Body Frame was put on in Adelaide in 1953 all I did was weld the plate steel. We moved to Bundarra in 1963 30 miles south of Inverell (NSW) where we bought nearly 4000 acres
The truck is now owned by Robert Dowsett and is housed in the EMRG shed
